In a friendly atmosphere, the two sides had an in-depth and detailed exchange on the latest application of the cutting-edge technology of iron ore concentrate cold briquetting binder for gas-based direct reduction. Chairman Meng introduced in detail the research progress and preliminary results of Jianjie Group in this field, and expressed his vision of working hand in hand with Central South University to jointly promote technological innovation and industrial upgrading.
The research and development of iron ore concentrate cold briquetting binders for gas-based direct reduction aims to improve the physical properties and metallurgical properties of iron ore concentrate briquettes by improving the performance of the binder. This technological breakthrough will enable cold briquette iron ore to have sufficient strength in wet and cold states, while maintaining stable performance in hot states.Thereby significantly reducing pellet production, transportation and loading and unloading processes. The pulverization ratio provides higher quality and more reliable raw materials for the production of gas-based direct reduced iron.
Jianjie R&D Center has completed the preliminary development of cold briquette iron ore binders in the laboratory. After a series of rigorous tests, the results show that the green briquettes drop strength, dry briquettes compressive strength and furnace thermal stability of the briquettes have all met the expected requirements. However, in terms of metallurgical property verification of cold briquette iron ore, it is still necessary to use the advanced laboratory equipment of Central South University for more in-depth metallurgical property testing and feedback. Jianjie R&D Center will carefully find out the existing deficiencies based on the feedback experimental data, and determine the subsequent optimization and modification plans accordingly.
We hope that Professor Zhang Yuanbo of Central South University and his team will lead the pilot test at the 1 million ton gas-based direct reduced iron plant in Shaoguan, Guangdong, a subsidiary of China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited. This action will not only verify the applicability and stability of iron ore cold briquetting binders in actual production, but also lay a solid foundation for the subsequent technology promotion and industrialization cooperation between the two parties.
