Real Case of Jianjie Binder for Steel Waste

Raw Material

35% steelmaking dust, 25% sinter dust, 5% refining dust, 5% ironmaking dust, 20% mill scale, 25% red iron oxide. The raw material composition is not fixed. The measured moisture of the mixed material before digestion is 1.11%. The dust contains reactive calcium oxide, so the material is digested before briquetting, with an overall pH of 9.5.

Equipment Used

High-pressure briquetting machine with water addition capability; one compactor plus one roller press. Daily output is 1,200 tons

Briquette Application

The final briquettes are used in a converter furnace

Customer Requirement

  • Wet briquettes must remain intact after a 2-meter drop test (1 drop),
  • Dry briquettes’ compressive strength must reach 1000N
  • The cost should be as low as possible.
